Musings for Friday - Overwhelmed Yet? [1]

Merriam-Webster defines overwhelm as follows:
overwhelmed ; overwhelming ; overwhelms : upset, overthrow The tornado overwhelmed many mobile homes. 2 a : to cover over completely : submerge The city was overwhelmed by the flooding caused by the hurricane. b : to overcome by superior force or numbers The city was overwhelmed by the invading army. c : to overpower in thought or feeling overwhelmed with grief overwhelmed by terror A sense of inadequacy overwhelmed me. overwhelmed with guilt
We (as in almost everybody on the left) knew it was coming. We tried to tell them. But, far too many wanted their protest vote.
We tried to tell everybody that Project 2025 was real and that if elected Trump et al would do their best to follow it to the letter. The only part most of us didn’t see coming before the election was the impact of what Elon Musk would be doing.
According to the latest polls (per Rachel Maddow on her show last night) Trump’s approval numbers are under water. The numbers for his actions are as well. Let’s hope that these negatives will stiffen the spines of enough of the GOP to slow down, or even maybe even stop some of these actions.
Maybe, just enough of them will recognize that if they don’t stand up now, later will be too late and Congress and the courts will be irrelevant. Trump won’t have to set the Capital building on fire, the MAGA GOP in Congress will have capitulated their power.
Are you overwhelmed yet? Battle through. It’s not too late.
