A firehose of lies in only one short month [1]

Where to start, where to start? We are being inundated with lie after lie, lies on top of lies, compound, complex lies, and it has only been a month and a day since this fabrication machine on steroids has been in the White House.
1. On The Agency for International Development (AID): It was riddled with scandal and waste. HIs proof (just one example): $50 million spent on condoms for Hamas. When it became evident to just about everyone in his sphere that this was not true what did he do? He doubled down, contradicted his own Press Secretary and declared that it was actually $100 million for condoms for Hamas.
2. "I know nothing about rare minerals and Ukraine." What? He said this on a radio interview today with Brian Kilmeade of Fox News. The problem with this whopper is that Zelensky has talked about Trump's negotiation for any further help as predicated on signing over 50% of their mineral rights in perpetuity. And with no guarantees of actual help. This story has been so widely distributed that the statement today is crazy in the extreme, and it appeared Kilmeade was quite uncomfortable with it, as well as the repeated lies about Ukraine having started the war.
3.The mass firings across multiple government agencies. Multiple reports since these firings started have included the information, straight from the mouths of those fired, that their termination papers declared they were being fired for incompetence and/or poor performance. Never mind that to a person interviewed their most recent evaluation contained nothing of the sort. So then, the question to ask is why would DOGE put in writing that these folks are being let go for incompetence and/or poor performance when the evidence is not there? Well, how about this? If you are fired for these reasons, isn't it much easier to deny you unemployment payments while you look for another job? It certainly would save the government a ton of money if they could deny these folks their unemployment payments, wouldn't it?
4. We have to end this war in Ukraine because millions are dead. Not even remotely true. In terms of military statistics, Russia to date has lost between 500,000 and 750,000 to the war, with approximately 100,000 soldiers killed and the rest wounded. Ukraine has lost ~450,000, with 46,000 soldiers killed and the rest wounded. (multiple sources for this whopper.)
5. New Yorkers hated Congestion Pricing—that’s why I’m killing it. First off, whether this is true is irrelevant--Trump meddled in local affairs by declaring the pricing to be dead and that he had killed it. Yes, the federal government has an oar in the water--it has to do with tolling on any federally funded roads, but it is not the only participant in the pricing and hence killing it unilaterally is not acceptable, as Governor Kathy Hochul said,
NYC Congestion Pricing: How Much Money Would the Toll Have Generated? - Newsweek "I don't care if you love congestion pricing or hate it. This is an attack on our sovereign identity, our independence from Washington. And we are a nation of states. This is what we fought for. This is what people like Alexander Hamilton and others fought for: To set up a system where we are not subservient to a king or anyone else out of Washington."
TD Economics - Setting the Record Straight on Canada-U.S. Trade 6. On his fight with Canada: When he started this one, he declared that it had to do with fentanyl. And that Canada was allowing millions of illegal immigrants to cross into the USA. Neither of these statements is true. And then he went on to throw out figures on a trade imbalance that is provably false. There is an imbalance but it is not the made-up number of $200 billion a year. Further, the actual facts are far more complex economically and reducing them to lies and jingoism does not change this.
Fact check: Trump’s false birthright citizenship claim repeats old lies on ‘Meet the Press,’ | CNN Politics 7. I am ending birthright citizenship. Because we are the only nation in the world that has this. Um, not true. There are at least three dozen countries with birthright citizenship. Here you go:
Does China 'operate' Panama Canal, as Trump says? 8. I will take back the Panama Canal because China is running it. Um, again, a provably false justification for seizing the canal.
‘I’m Just Hearing About It’: Trump Grilled on Elon Musk’s ‘Billions of Dollars in Contracts’ With Agencies He’s Regulating 9. I'm not aware of Musk having any conflicts of interest as he deals with the Defense Department and the FAA. Huh? How about Space X? And he actually declared that he wasn’t aware of any conflicts at all. Trump held forth on this nonsense Tuesday, 2/18 in a press conference.
