Photo Diary: Busch Gardens Tampa [1]

Busch Gardens Tampa is an odd combination of “zoo” and “theme park”. I’ve been coming here for many years, though I am an “animal” person (and I am old and wrinkly) and don’t usually go on any of the rides. Alas, since Annheuser-Busch sold it to some investment company they have emphasized the “theme park” side to attract a younger crowd, and the quality has gone down while the price has gone up. I still like walking around for an afternoon though. And they do seem to be making some changes to some of the animal areas: the “African Plains” portion and part of the African Apes paddock was closed for remodeling.
Some photos from a visit.
There is some lovely landscaping here
