GOP Representative Faces the Music at Town Hall - KEEP UP THE PRESSURE! [1]

GOP representatives may talk a good game, but when it comes to facing the voters there’s no defense for what they are doing. Their total abdication of their role as an equal branch of government is getting noticed even in the redder districts.

Rep. Rich McCormick of Georgia’s 7th district held a town hall meeting last night, and in it he had the face the music of irate voters. Even if it was skewed towards more blue-leaning voters showing up, it is not a good look in a such a red district to have a town hall facing hostile voters.

x U.S. Rep. Rich McCormick was peppered with boos and catcalls throughout a town hall meeting in Roswell late Thursday, as hundreds of critics jeered the Republican for backing President Donald Trump’s agenda during his first month in office. #gapol ajc.com/politics/mcc...

Here are some choice clips that the reporter above recorded from the town hall meeting.

x Here's the first @bluestein.bsky.social video that X blocked (with the last few seconds trimmed off). Audience member: "[Congress] controls the budget, not the president. And you are doing us a disservice to set that down and not stand up for us!"

x Here's the second @bluestein.bsky.social video that X blocked. Lots of shouting. Closing quote from Rep. McCormick: "No, I don't think that we should cut school lunches for needy kids. I don't."

One of the HUGE warning signs for the Tea Party wave in 2010 was voter behavior at town hall meetings that went viral. Could this be the start of the big blue wave we need in 2026?

Not if President Musk has his way. He’s suppressing these videos questioning “DOGE” and his role in the regime using the algorithms on Xitter.

x Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

Rep. Rich McCormick (GA-7) doesn’t represent a swing seat. The Tangerine Terror won his district 60-38%, or around 22 points. His district takes some of suburban Atlanta, GA and combines it with very red exurban and rural areas in the north part of the state.

McCormick isn’t the only one getting antsy either. Rep. Troy Balderson represents Ohio’s 12th district, which includes turf east of Columbus, Ohio. To tell you how fascist the area is, the Velveeta Vulgarian won it 66-33%. Yet he felt the need to make this statement last night.

x NEW Republican Congressman Troy Balderson, who reps an R+18 district in Ohio, says President Trump’s executive orders are “getting out of control.” “Congress has to decide whether or not the Departmnet of Education goes away. Not the president. Not Elon Musk. Congress decides,” Balderson said.

Granted, no member of the GOP has meaningfully stood up against President Musk and the Pumpkin Pinochet as of yet. But there are cracks starting to form in the dam holding us back and once the dam breaks, the floodgates will open.

I doubt Rep. Rich McCormick holds another town hall event after last night. bilboteach is giving you an assignment now if you have a GOP representative!

Find out if your members of Congress are holding any town halls soon. If not, call and DEMAND that they hold one. Do it nicely, but be persistent and an irritant. Attend these town hall events if possible. Sometimes, they are at odd places and odd hours on purpose to avoid scenes like last night. Or they are scripted telephone town halls. Cause good trouble within reason. Don’t let the lies slide. Question them about President Musk and what the Cheeto Caligula are doing. Question them about what THEY will do to stop it.

If the above steps are not possible, call call CALL their offices. If the inbox in Washington, DC is “full”, call their regional or local offices. Register your dissent. Be polite to them as you are talking to an intern or volunteer that isn’t responsible for the monsters their representatives are.
