Trump has revealed his true Ukraine viewpoint, which is Putin's viewpoint:

The Ukraine war is a Russian civil war

Zelenski started the war

Ukraine's people long for reunion with Russia

Trump offered to take over most of Ukraine's resources and infrastructure, as payback for past US aid, and with no promises about the future. Zelenski rejected this 'generous' offer, and how Ukraine must pay the consequences.

Is Trump's alignment with Putin an echo of Yalta (Roosevelt and Stalin parcel Europe) or Munich (Chamberlain gives Czechoslovakia to Hitler)?

Trump also offered a generous deal for Gaza: move the troublesome Palestinians out and give the land to the US for development into beach resorts like the French Riviera.

This is Trump: make deals to enrich or glorify himself. Horrible consequences for others do not matter.

This is the USA: accept Trump's madness and move on, or shudder and look the other way.

The strategy of Europe’s leaders has been to try and win Trump's graces with flattery, hoping he could be dissuaded from his most callous lunacies. Zelenski has broken ranks, saying out loud that Trump suffers from "disinformation". There are no signs yet that Republican doormats or European wimps are about to join Zelenski.

I am still waiting for the little boy who cried, "the emperor has no clothes!". It would suffice, perhaps, if the US Senate majority leader or the UK Prime Minister played the role of the little boy, but there is no sign of this yet.

What would it take for the doormats (R) to rise up and get rid of Trump? Is there any hope?
