I know anger doesn’t get rec’s, but I’m angry.

Here’s senator Tim Kaine today in a fundraising message today:

I will vote NO on Kash Patel’s confirmation to FBI Director, and I strongly urge my Republican colleagues to put country over party and join me. … Please help me demonstrate a strong grassroots opposition to Kash Patel by adding your name to my petition against his confirmation today. Senator Bernie Sanders today in a fundraising message:

[Medicare = good, Social Security = good, minimum wage = good, blah = blah = blah] And while we are making real progress, we need to do better. A simple ‘no’ vote doesn’t count for squat in terms of practical results. Moreover, the show these senators put on in recent weeks, where they briefly delayed the confirmation of Vought and now Patel, also hasn’t counted for squat, because they only exerted minimal effort.

Both of these guys, and every single one of the Democratic senators, could have prevented the confirmation of the very same people who are enacting Trump’s reign of lawlessness, but they’re still playing the same electoral politics game that they’ve (we’ve) been losing for the past 30 years.

Just. Fucking. Stop.

Every Dem senator literally consented to fast-tracking Trump’s nominees so they could skip town early ahead of the weekends. Doing the opposite might’ve saved the republic.

Senators, just put a stop to this regime’s lawless behavior, using every tool in your toolkit and every one of your powers, or don’t ever ask for my help again. Seriously, if our Dem senators aren’t willing to to use their power of obstruction to save the god damned country, then they need to resign and make room for Democrats who know how to fight.

We are in a war against Putin, Musk and the global fascist bloc. You, our Dem senators, are supposed to be the front line of opposition against the conquering fascists. Come back with your shield or on it.

We’re unlikely to have meaningful elections in 2026 or 2028 if this regime isn’t brought to heel.
