I am going to say this once: are we part of the political spectacle or part of the resistance? I sincerely mean it.
Because I for one am not going quietly should things go full totalitarian. We are nowhere near that yet, but many people on this site seem to think so. We unwittingly legitimate these assh*les by staying on defense, and by throwing up our hands. Or suggest, as one headline here just did, that “Trump is the law.”
We are probably past street protest as a non-violent weapon, though I think they should still happen, if only to convey our disgust, but we should be legitimately thinking about MULTIPLE ways to reclaim our democracy. I would start thinking about other forms of mass non-cooperation. AT the least, federal workers should stay put. Let them escort the thousands of you out the building. Invite the media to film it. I will talk more about this in a forthcoming diary.
I am not afraid of these morons; I don’t think they have the ability to fully take over the country. I worry more about people who reflexively despair and do nothing in the face of this chaos. Their strategy is to demoralize and shock and awe. Your response should be rage. DO not go quietly, and do not give Schmuck L’Orange more power than he thinks he has...
