Today I came across a photo of a young white woman holding a protest sign that reads “So sorry I voted for Trump! Everything worse.”
I think she is brave. I hope as you read this you agree that our response is to call her IN not call her out.
The leopards are bursting at the seams, toothpicks in mouths, from feasting on faces. Saying “I told you so” is utterly & completely counterproductive at this juncture. You’re just aiding and abetting the billionaire class.
If you disagree, think about the last time you had an argument with a loved one and smugly insisted that you were right. Even if you were right, did saying it calm any waters? Speaking of calm, when in human history did telling anyone to calm down, actually make them calm down. It’s the same thing when you vocalize insistence of “I was right” and “you were wrong.” It just makes our fellow human beings dig in their heels. We need Trump regret voters. We have to meet people where they are, not where we wish they would be. We need to help them SAVE FACE in order to SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY.
Think Sun Tzu “Art of War” strategy. We the people have a democracy to save & a small window of time in which to do so.
Be smart.
Unite.
Call in. Not out.
