I have a lot going on today, very little of it political unfortunately. So I won’t be around much, but I wanted to post this. Both for what it says and what it does not say.
Reich makes the point that when you are running as fast as you can and still losing ground, you’re not going to be thinking that things are improving merely because they’re improving for the folks who park their Teslas and Lexuses and Infinitis right next to the building while you walk in half a mile from the Grunt And Serf Parking Lot.
What he doesn’t do is recommend that we address this by trying as hard as we can to hate the people parking in Grunts and Serfs even harder, while we wait for them all to perish in the wreckage of what they have wrought, and then hold keggers. I think that’s very sound non-advice, myself.
Since this video predates The Depredations Of Elon, I’m also posting some that are more recent, in which he and others have things to say about those as well.
Professor Reich was Secretary of Labor. He has paid a lot of attention to this stuff [she understated wildly]. And he is -gasp- old. At least half my age.
But to paraphrase Leonard Cohen,
Time makes us age, it ages everyone. That’s how the wisdom gets in.
