Teachers In KY Who Voted For Trump Say They Didn't Vote For Federal Aid Cuts. FAFO time again. [1]

I feel confident to say that as a Kentuckian I have every right to throw stones at my fellow Kentuckians when they act stupidly, which is most of the time nowadays. This CNN video is from Jan 20th, but it looks at the reactions of teachers in Bell County, KY who voted for Trump. Basically, the teachers claim they did not vote for federal aid cuts for their students, and federal aid keeps these schools going in poverty stricken Bell County (one of the ten poorest counties in KY). As you all are aware, the Department of Education is the next target for destruction by Elon Musk, and the teachers of Bell County cannot believe that Trump actually meant to eliminate the Department of Education.
As a former teacher (not a very good one I have to confess), I can testify that not all teachers are moderate or liberal in their political beliefs. However, they are supposed to be “educated” to say the least, and I find the Bell County teachers to be some of the biggest ignoramuses on the planet. The only way to remotely defend their blatant stupidity is to point out that Bell County and the surrounding counties are all part of the 5th Congressional District. And that district is the poorest and most Republican in the entire state, and it has been that way before I was even born.
In other words, dirt poor white people who have been Republicans for decades. And as the mom at the end of this segment says, they vote for “conservative values.” Keep in mind Bell County is majority white, so I’m sure those conservative values entail white supremacy. And as pointed out in the video, 80% of the population is essentially poor, and Trump got 84% of the vote in 2024.
And once again, the blatant hypocrisy of these people. Conservative values people who voted for a felon and and adjudicated rapist. Yet, Trump was going to make their lives better. Well, how are their lives going to be better when Trump eliminates free breakfast and lunches for the poor white kids in Bell?
