In case you somehow missed it, Acting U.S. attorney Danielle Sassoon has written that Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove and New York Mayor Eric Adams reached an agreement wherein the corruption charges against Adams would be dropped in return for allowing ICE free reign in New York City.

This corrupt bargain strikes at the heart of our democracy. The voters of New York chose Eric Adams to represent them, not the Trump administration. This confirmed blackmail agreement prevents the mayor from acting freely in the interests of his constituents. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has the power to remove the mayor from office, and has so far refrained from taking such a drastic step, in part because she fears the Trump striking down the city’s congestion pricing program if she pisses him off:

The time for equivocation is over. This clear and blatant corruption has disenfranchised New York voters. There can be no hesitation. I urge everyone to contact the office of Kathy Hochul and urge her to remove Mayor Adams from office.
