Brilliant(!) idea on flagging broadcast lies [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

It used to be that profanity was bleeped when it was spoken on television or on the radio.

It seems to me that the same kind of thing could be done for blatant lies when quoted in videos or podcasts. Unlike bleeped profanity, it should be something that doesn't prevent one from hearing what's said; rather, it should be a quick alert that flags the lie. Plus, the density of the alerts would correspond with the density of lies.

I propose that broadcasters of all sorts play a quick cuckoo sound every time a lie is spoken; I propose that this strategy be widely adopted.

Just as asterisks were once used to replace vowels when printing profanity, lies in print should also be flagged. This might be done in several ways. Perhaps a dedicated symbol printed as a superscript; perhaps a lurid color font; or perhaps simply the word "lie" in square brackets. I think I prefer the latter — it could be written in plain text, without formatting. And as with the cuckoo sound, the density of lies would be made visible.

As a special case for DJT, who rarely says anything that isn't a lie — I note that Mary Trump infantilizes her orange uncle's voice when she shows clips of him speaking.

..

Finally, comrades and cronies, this is my first post; please correct me if I've misstepped.
