Dem Congressperson:
Congratulations, Mr. Kennedy (or Patel, or whomever)! This is your lucky day. Because, despite being dangerously ignorant, staggeringly dishonest and singularly unqualified for this position, you are going to be confirmed by this committee. Because every Republican is going to vote for you. Even the ones who know how unqualified you are, are going to vote for you. They’ll find some idiotic excuse to vote for you, because they are afraid. They are afraid for their jobs and their lives and the lives of their families. They’re afraid because they know that the ignorant, violent followers of the sex-offender in the white house, might just kill them. And you know what? They’re right. But that is because Republicans ruin everything. And now the destruction will continue.
These Republicans are going to hear what you have to say, and they are going to “do their due diligence” and maybe some “soul searching”, and then every one of them is going to vote for you. Because the rapist with 39 felony convictions told them to.
Congratulations, Mr. Secretary.
