Let’s put aside our customary squabbling for the foreseeable future and save he country, okay? Here are two things you can do right now, and one to plan for.

You may or may not already know about these actions. If this is new, you have something to do starting now. If you already know, good! And sorry for the repeated information.

First, if you’re not already doing so, call your senators and rep once a day, at both their local and DC offices. Put their phone numbers in your contacts list and you can get through these calls in about five minutes. You can either tell them to support/object to a specific issue, or just simply tell them to grow a spine. In my call today, I’m going to have the pleasure of letting my wishy-washy rep know that I pulled my monthly donation.

Second, I hope you’re all planning not to shop on February 28:

The blackout is scheduled to take place for 24 hours, starting at midnight on Thursday, Feb. 27, until midnight on Friday, Feb. 28. While it's intended to last for a day, The People's Union could extend the blackout for longer.

The idea is to show these wretched, money grubbing corporations that if we don’t buy, they don’t have a business.
