In a follow-up to its story in December, the Guardian is reporting that Uline, owned by the Uihlein family, who gave Trump's campaign 130 million dollars through Dick Uihlein's Restoration Pac, brought Mexican workers in on tourist and B1 visas, coached them to lie to immigration officials, and put them to work in the US, paying them a fraction of the regular wage. Uline has facilities in Mexico that served as a conduit for the "trainees” that were imported.
This is the sort of hypocrisy that will resonate with working class Trump voters. Democrats must amplify this story and call out the Uihleins and corporate villains like them by name. They must also demand investigations into Uline company and the exploitation of workers under the B1 visa system. They have warehouses in a number of states with Democratic governors so, even if Trump's DOJ won't take action against Uline under federal immigration laws, they have probably violated state laws.
