New Day Cafe: Do We Still Treasure Tuesday? [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Date: 2025-02-11

Good morning! I think I still have some “treasures” in the old kit bag. Most of these are from “that place” but I am hoping that Blue Sky will make it possible to save posts to use later. Like here! :)

Grab a cuppa and, if you have a treasure or two you’d like to share, we’d love that!

All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation. We, as a group, have declared a moratorium on photos of Trump. We’ve seen enough, heard enough. This is a Trump-Free Zone! There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope. We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community. We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.

Instead of flooding democrats with calls asking what are they doing to stop Musk from destroying this country, and start flooding republicans with calls asking why they are allowing it ?

His gift to us….always a treasure!

There are several posts in this thread. Yeah it’s on Twitter, but please do not miss out!! I was laughing and crying, and missing him so….but so very grateful we had his frenetic genius for so long.

This was a post on Twitter from RCdeWinter….yer welcome!

A man walked into an antique store and started looking around. Suddenly, he gazed upon a beautiful bronze statue of a Siamese cat. He asked the owner how much he wanted for the statue. The owner replied, "It's $100 for the statue and $1000 for the story that goes with it."The man replied, "I really don't care about the story, but I do want the statue.”

As the man was paying for the statue, the shop owner said, "All right, but I guarantee you will be back for the story."The man walked out of the shop and down the street carrying the statue.

When he came to the crosswalk, he happened to glance behind him and saw 3 or 4 cats sitting about 10 feet away, looking at him. He shrugged it off and crossed when the light changed. He went several more blocks and at another crosswalk look behind again and this time there were 30 cats sitting there looking at him.

The man started to get a little nervous and picked up his pace when the light changed. By the time the man reached the pier at the end of the street he’d been running for several blocks because every time he turned around there were more and more cats behind him. He looked like the Pied Piper.

When he got to the end of the pier he turned around once more and saw at least 10,000 cats sitting there looking at him. There were so many cats there was no way to get off the pier without going through them and there was no way he was going to do that.

In a panic, he turned toward the water and heaved the statue as far as he could. Amazingly, all the cats ran right past him and jumped into the water after the statue and drowned. The man, still shaking from his ordeal, immediately started running back to the shop.He burst through the door and the owner said, “I told you you’d be back for the story.”The man replied, “The hell with that – give me a statue of Donald Trump!”

:)

I’ve never seen one this….huge! You need to click on the photo to see how big and blossomy it really is!

I know some Canadians are blaming us for the shite that the Trump Regime is doing. Others are standing by us, the citizens, while we fight for our country. They are GOOD neighbours and GOOD friends.

Canada...is a treasure!!!

Just a little Irish thing….a Claddagh Ring. Usually they are unadorned.

From Wiki:

….a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty, and two clasped hands symbolize friendship. The design and customs associated with it originated in Claddagh , County Galway . Its modern form was first produced in the 17th century.
