UPDATE: I cannot access the NYT article, but the headline is that Farley’s plans for dealing with rising costs for Ford is to LAYOFF WORKERS!
This is rich coming from the CEO of the Ford Motor Company, Jim Farley:
Ford CEO says Trump’s tariffs are causing ‘chaos’ in auto industry
You don’t say Jimbo? How so? I really want to know!
The chief executive of America’s second-largest automaker described 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, as well as threatened levies of the same amount on Mexico and Canada, as currently adding “a lot of cost, and a lot of chaos” to the industry. “President Trump has talked a lot about making our U.S. auto industry stronger, bringing more production here, more innovation in the U.S., and if his administration can achieve that, it would be one of … the most signature accomplishments,” Farley said Tuesday during a Wolfe Research conference. “So far what we’re seeing is a lot of cost, and a lot of chaos.” Farley and incoming Ford CFO Sherry House said a majority of the company’s steel and aluminum are domestically sourced; however, there are suppliers to the automaker that source such materials from outside of the country, which could have an impact on costs.
Chaos! Trump causing chaos and adding costs?! Why didn’t you know this could happen?
Oh, it’s probably because you are a big political donor to the Republican Party along with the rest of the Ford executives.
These are the Top 30 Corporate Donors to Senate Republicans At number 16: 16. Ford Motor Company Civic Action Fund – $81,900 The Ford Motor Company Civic Action Fund contributed $35,900 to Michigan Republican Senators and $46,000 to the Senate Republican Candidate Committee since 2018. Jim Farley, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company signed onto a statement criticizing anti-voter efforts along with other business leaders. Since 2018, Farley has personally donated $4,992 to the Fund. Contact: Facebook and Twitter and Jim Farley’s Twitter and media contact email is

And Ford has been giving to anti-democracy Republicans since 2021.
Oh, and Ford contributed one million dollars and vehicles to Trump’s inauguration too.
It looks like the prices for cars are going to go up with these latest Trump tariffs. That’s really not going to help your bottom line is it Jim? You could raise a fuss with all those Republican congressmen and senators you bought, but yeah, they don’t want to do anything to upset Trump.
Dumb ass mofo.
