The Plaque for the Forgotten Heroes [1]

On March 10, 2022, as part of a $1.5 trillion spending bill, Congress ordered the production and display of a plaque to honor the police officers who saved the U.S. Capitol complex on January 6th, 2021.

There was a year given to produce and place the plaque on the west side of the Capitol where the most violence occurred.

A plaque was made, but it still hasn't been installed. Who's holding it up? Speaker Mike Johnson. Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, and Hakeen Jeffries all signed off on it, but not Johnson.

Currently in a display case. I assume in the Capitol somewhere.

The law designated the plaque to require:

"an honorific plaque listing the names of all the officers of the United States Capitol Police, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, and other Federal state, and local law enforcement agencies and protective entities who responded to the violence that occurred at the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021."

Representative Zoe Lofgren wrote to Johnson last May asking why the plaque had not been installed. She never heard back.

In that display case.

"It's not just the plaque, although it does mean something to the officers who were there, but the fact that no one cares for them enough to comply with the law and acknowledge the sacrifice that they made for us and the country. That service to their country, it's been disrespected," Lofgren said.

This is from a January 16th, 2025 post that CBS News did on their X account.

There is a petition you can sign at MOVEON.org to have the plaque installed.

This is dedicated to Trump. Supposed to be Nancy Pelosi's desk with you know what on top of it.

The deadline passed while Kevin McCarthy was the Speaker of the House.

Metropolitan police officer Daniel Hodges, the one you've seen on video being crushed in a doorway and screaming, finds it incredibly offensive that the plaque hasn't been installed.

"It's an incredibly simple thing, but it can mean a lot to those who fought that day to defend democracy, defend Congress, the vice president, and staffers."

Former Capital Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell, who retired because of his injuries, said, "Looking back, it's like it was all for nothing. It's a betrayal."

On January 4th, this year, he said he wished this the plaque was up on the west front of the Capitol so Trump could see it before he steps on the inauguration stage. Trump could "read the names of the officers before he walks out. So he could know that his actions had consequences." Little did he know that the weather would be so cold that the inauguration would take place inside the Capitol rotunda. Good thought, though.

I'm wondering what happened to all the names of the officers that were supposed to be part of the plaque. It would make it huge in comparison to what it is. Maybe that was going to be done as a second stage.

This is the letter that was sent to Mike Johnson on January 16th, 2025. It was followed by three pages of signatures from Democrats.

When Mike Johnson was asked by CBS on January 16th, 2025, about the plaque and the letter, he said, "You know, I haven't even looked at that. I need to check on it."

Yeah, you do that Mike. In the meantime, The Daily Show decided to do their own series of plaques.

Let's start off with the First Insurrectionist, Donald Frump.

The Daily Show obviously had some fun with this.

Let's see, who should we do next?

How about Rudy Giuliani?

Must have been fun making this up in metal with Rudy and the hair dye dripping down his face.

Next is Tucker Carlson. You remember him?

He used to think he was important. I can't remember him doing anything since he got kicked off Fox. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Steve Bannon. He's out of jail. And he hates Elon Musk's face. He's going to get rid of Musk for us, remember?

Don't see any of that happening soon. Unfortunately.

There's the Beetlejuice vaper lady. You know her as Lauren Boebert.

Watch out because she's got that bathroom key. Like the ones they have at service stations on a long stick.

Then there's your friend and mine, Marjorie Taylor Greene.

She looks better with the mask on. Unfortunately it doesn't shut her up.

Cancun Man Ted Cruz. Even people who like him, hate him.

He always looks like he's got a Brillo pad on his face.

Josh Harley. The fastest runner in the Senate.

Pump that fist right into your own asshole.

After getting angry about Mike Johnson holding up the plaque being installed, hopefully this gave you some humorous relief.

I always thought Mike Johnson was a weasel. You remember when somebody asked him how he made his decisions, he said to look at the Bible. I'd really like to know where it says in the Bible about how you deal with a President who is a sexual abuser, 34 felony criminal, insurrectionist, a danger to society, America, and the world.

Everybody's completely occupied with the insanity and permanent destruction that Trump has already done. Keep this incident and dishonor in the back of your head. Some Democrat at some point is going to confront Johnson directly on camera. And if not Johnson, then Donald Trump himself.
