Shut down the Government. Used to be a bad thing to do. But do we really have a government now?

Trump is ignoring US Law and the Constitution by refusing to spend Congressionally authorized and mandated funding across many programs. And he's not just ignoring our Laws and Constitution, He's using Executive Orders to

actively override US Law and the Constitution.

As his anti-American tirade grows in intensity, our federal courts are issuing more and more rulings that require Trump to stop. Stop breaking US laws. Stop breaking the constitution.

To those court rulings and our laws Trump responds that the courts have no control over his legitimate presidential activities and says that all his activities are legit. Remember Richard Nixon's declaration that if the president does it, it's not illegal? Yeah, we're right back to 1977. Repuglicans were insisting back then that the president was in essence a dictator.

Fast forward to today. Trump has still stopped many spending programs that the courts have ordered him to start anew. He's still issuing EO's that defy the constitution (such as dismantling administrative departments that Congress created by law). And he's not gonna stop. Now he's openly telling the courts

they have no control over him.

The SC ruled that Trump has immunity when he is operating in his official duties. And that is what Trump is trying to push here. He accepts that part of the ruling. But in that same ruling the SC said that they alone have the right and final say over what his official duties are. Trump is obviously ignoring that part. So we have a president who rules over a party that controls congress and openly tells the Republican majority SC that it has no control over him. Is that a government? Or a dictator?

Shut down the government. Used to be a bad thing. Now it might be the only way to stop Trump. There's a continuing resolution coming up to fund the government. EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE SHOULD VOTE AGAINST THAT RESOLUTION. Why not? Trump has already proven that our democracy is dead. So, lets bury it. Lets see if Trump can run a government without one penny of funding.
