Vice-President JD Vance, shown above taking a pretend oath to uphold the constitution, cast doubt on whether he or anyone in the Trump administration would—or should—consider a court’s ruling binding on his actions, saying “judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power.”
His rationale?
“If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal,” he wrote. “If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that’s also illegal.”
It is immediately obvious to those with at least a 3-year old’s mental capacity that Vance is—what is the technical term?--full of the brown stuff. Any judge is of course well within her rights to tell a general not to direct murder or rape of civilians, and oh, did we forget Fani Willis, who was commanded to suspend her prosecutorial discretion by Republican judicial oversight?
On this day in history, Feb. 10, 1936, the German Reichstag granted the Gestapo absolute authority, not subject to judicial review.
Just saying.
