Jamelle Bouie is not only a brilliant NYT Op-Ed columnist, but he has a very popular TikTok account on which he muses mostly about politics.
On TikTok, he’s able to chat about things that wouldn’t fly on the NYT or that don’t merit a full column.
In this recent video, he predicts that anti-Elon protests might soon be breaking out at Tesla dealerships. It also feels like a call to action. As one commenter said, “You’re cracking me up with your non-suggestion suggestion.”
He is very aware that the Venn diagram of his audiences has only a slight overlap. I find it very endearing that every once in a while he has to explain that he has some credentials in the political commentary department and he’s not like just another random guy with semi-thoughtful opinions.
I’d recommend his account if you’re on TikTok. Bouie and lisayay1966 are two of my favorite TikTok accounts.
Bouie is also a pretty snappy dresser.
