TIME Magazine has a cover for Feb. 24, 2025, which comes to the conclusion as most news media have. Elon Musk is acting like he's the President of the United States.
Resolute desk.
They've got him him sitting behind the Resolute desk. There were actually three desks made from the timbers of the HMS Resolute. The desk now used by presidents in the Oval Office, was given to President Rutherford B Hayes in 1880 by Queen Victoria, but there's only one like the Oval Office desk.
Grinnell desk.
The Grinnel desk was given to the widow of Henry Grinnell in 1880. It now resides in the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
Queen Victoria's writing desk.
The last was a writing table for Queen Victoria. So, unfortunately, the plot element for National Treasure : Book of Secrets of two identical desks was poetic license.
The use of the President's Resolute desk implies the occupancy of the Oval Office. That simple image of Musk at the desk says it all.
TIME titled the cover story: "Inside Elon Musk's war on Washington."
TIME was flooded with comments of rage as soon as the cover was seen. Such as, "Funny, I don't remember Musk's name being anywhere on my ballot in November." "Who is that Trump guy anyway? Obviously, he's Musk's puppet."
How much TIME has Trump had in office? Not much with Elon around.
I'm sure you will all come up with even better comments.
