Trump Appoints Himself Chair of the Kennedy Center [1]

Lacking anything better to do, President Donald Trump has appointed himself chair of the board of the Kennedy Center in Washington and remove the other members.

Obviously, as president, he has more pressing matters to attend to. Hopefully, this will keep him distracted from causing even greater destruction.

I’m guessing he is far more interested in being an entertainment impresario than in actually governing.

Of course, this probably means Lara Trump will soon have a long-term, indefinite residency at the Kennedy Center—perhaps as its new star attraction. Established as the nation’s premier cultural institution, the Kennedy Center has long been home to world-class opera, theater, and symphony performances, honoring artistic excellence.

Given Lara’s recent foray into music—where she warbled her way through country ballads with all the grace of an out-of-tune karaoke machine—it seems only fitting that she now has a venue where applause might be more obligatory than earned.
