I couldn’t resist the “Shotaway” IPA from Altamont Beer Works (Livermore CA), as they lean into the main reason anybody knows that name. The artwork is a tribute to the classic San Francisco rock poster art of the late ‘60s, so it called for my Grateful Dead glass with a similar look. I like Maui Waui better.
How could I not play the song?

The Super Bowl ™ is almost here, marking the biggest beer commercial day of the year, probably also the biggest beer consumption day. Big beer is once again betting on the Super Bowl
According to Forbes, multinational beer colossus AB InBev will be behind five of the six spots reserved for beer. Viewers can look forward to commercials from the likes of Budweiser, Bud Light, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois, and Busch Light… Budweiser is bring back the Clydesdales and Bud Light has teamed up with musician Post Malone.
Since the game is being played in New Orleans I got some Abita Amber for my party, though I’ll probably drink mostly IPA.

I started tonight with a new one from Sierra Nevada, “Hop Tropical” IPA. I won’t mind finishing the 6pack, but I like Juicy Little Thing better. My friend will get here sometime and then we’ll go out for dinner and beer.
