If you watch the Super Bowl this weekend, out of love of the game, a chance to win a bet, or just morbid curiosity there are a few things to notice. First, every spectator in that arena paid ,on average, $5000 to sit for 3 hours and watch grown men play a game. These are tRump’s people. ( except for some Eagles fans) Most of the people I know could use $5000 to pay their mortgage, or rent for 5 months, pay off student loans, (Biden tried to help with this one but was blocked by republicans) or help with childcare so they can work a job. In other words these spectators are people of means, with plenty of disposable income.
Second the words “Choose Love” will be stenciled into the end zone. This was changed from “End Racism” at the request of Orange Jesus, because it hurt his, and his copresident Musk’s feelings. George Orwell would not be surprised.
A few examples of the “love” tRump, and his pet Elon want to spread are all over the news. Rounding up millions of undocumented immigrants, and deporting them back to their violent countries shows a form of “love” to which I am unfamiliar. Making them citizens and taxpayers never crossed his mind.
Elon has a special “love” for Bibi Netanyahu. See Elon got out of South Africa the moment apartheid ended in the 90’s, and has wandered the planet looking for soulmates. Bibi is a perfect fit as he has his own apartheid country, today. I can see why a message of “End Racism” might offend these two.
Now “love” only goes so far when we are talking about Palestinians. They have been demonized for well over 70 years, as vermin and subhuman, wasting valuable oxygen. Why the people who were victims of the holocaust, can treat others with the same horror, is a question to which I have never been given a straight answer. Maybe I can ask my Senator, John Fetterman to square this circle for me. I expect to see him in a sky box, getting selfies with tRump and Musk, this Sunday.
Forcibly moving 2 million people, against their will, to places they have never been, is also a form of “love” I am unfamiliar with. Perhaps Senator Fetterman could set me straight.
