"Aggressive" and "frankly unhinged" was how a "shocked" person, who chose to remain anonymous, described the encounter.
(B*tches be crazy, right?) /s
Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) did in fact have to "force her way" into Johnson's office in order to talk to him about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant's allowing Elon Musk's non-governmental IT team unsupervised access to the U.S. government's financial databases, "and then I got to go in right behind her," Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) acknowledged.
"And she was already confronting Speaker Johnson about Treasury Secretary [Scott] Bessent and the stealing of Americans’ private information, tax information that should never be stolen and given to this billionaire Elon Musk," said Chu.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that any degree of anger and forcefulness are unseemly and reprehensible in the female of the species under any circumstances, while often admired in the male.
"The Speaker was more than gracious and allowed the members into his personal office to hear their concerns," according to the witness, who asked not to be named, told Politico.
Ahem, if he was so willing to listen, how is it that these Congress members had to be "aggressive" to get a meeting with him in the first place?
..
Now let's talk about "aggressive" and "unhinged," shall we?
Oct. 24, 2019: Republicans storm secure room, delay in questioning top defense official on Ukraine aid
About two dozen House Republicans delayed a deposition in the ongoing impeachment inquiry on Wednesday, storming the secure hearing room and demanding to take part, raising security concerns about the sensitive space. The protest forced Democrats to delay the hearing with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Laura Cooper for five hours The GOP group, led by Reps. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., staged a news conference denouncing the Democrats' impeachment inquiry before entering the secure room known as a Secure Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF, where Republicans and Democrats on relevant committees were preparing to question Cooper, a senior Pentagon official with jurisdiction over Russian and Ukrainian policy.
These Republicans also, completely against security rules, brought their cell phones with them. This necessitated a full security sweep once the room was cleared. Someone really did not want Cooper to be heard on this subject. Remember?
And of course:
While the violent mob brought zip ties intended for Congress members, chanted "hang Mike Pence," raced from room to room hunting legislators, and took a dump in the Speaker's office.
But ladies, ladies.…
Of course, it's their demeanor that leads. "It's not our behavior, it's your reaction to it that's the problem."
We went to the Speaker’s Office to demand answers from Sec. Bessent as to why he allowed the richest man in the world – and the President’s biggest donor in 2024 – full, unfettered access to Americans’ personal information, including their Social Security numbers and our tax dollars. Speaker Johnson hid Sec. Bessent [who had been meeting with him earlier] from us, and he expressed unacceptable ignorance as to why Musk and his band of hackers were given free reign over the computer and payment systems responsible for delivering Social Security checks, tax refunds, and federal funds to our communities. We’ll keep working to stand up for Americans and demand those answers, and we politely requested the Speaker join us to put an end to this dangerous, rogue operation. Suggestions of oversight hearings next week aren’t enough. The American people demand their information be protected now..… ...[W]e were trying to make the point that if we were at the airport, the people who are selling pretzels and cookies would have to have an FBI clearance in order to be able to go beyond the gate area. This is unprecedented. It is illegal. We also brought up the point of how so many Republicans last session, session before last, were having a fit when they thought that Donald Trump's tax information had been leaked. None of us leaked it, but somehow someone got a hold of his former President Trump, then former President Trump's tax information and we thought, as Democrats and Republicans, that that was criminal activity.… REPORTER: What was the Speaker's response...? He's saying he's trying to find out. So, I said that that was very distressing to me that even you don't know, and you're the speaker of the House and you have no idea what is happening. [More, video included.]
Hopefully Mr. More Than Gracious Speaker will get his head out of the alleged freaking sand at some point, maybe when he realizes his own tax returns were probably compromised? :-/
..
ADDENDUM: From Moore's post-meeting press gaggle...
REPORTER: And you briefly mentioned that the speaker said there'd be hearings on this? CONGRESSWOMAN GWEN MOORE: Yes. Next week.
If so, that is important news.
