The REAL critical issue with Federal Employment [1]

While corporate media chases the Trump clown show’s every lunacy—including now about 20,000 federal employees taking their buyout offer--we thought we’d had a little context to the numbers and show the real crisis for the federal bureaucracy. As is usually the case, it has nothing to do with what Trump is saying and is in fact the opposite.
First, some 14% of civilian federal employees are currently entitled to retire. That is somewhere north of 300,000. As you can see, then, the 20,000 is only about 6.6% of the already eligible federal employees to take this buyout offer. In other words, many of them would have retired anyway, and so by taking the buyout offer, it will actually cost the US government and us taxpayers money. Good job, Trump!
Second, it should be noted that the civilian federal employee workforce is today smaller than it was when it peaked in 1990—and is only slightly higher than it was in 1970! That’s right, the ‘deep state’ is actually incredibly efficient (Musk might want to look into that. He could learn something.)
Third, and here’s where the real crisis arrivers, in 5 years 50% of the federal civilian workforce will be eligible to retire. The federal workforce—like the country at large—is aging incredibly rapidly. In the very near future we will not have enough federal employees and will struggle mightily to fill positions. This is, by the way, already evident—as in the case of air traffic controllers. (DEI is not pushing away eligible white men—of whom there are not enough--it is attempting to bring in more qualified employees.)
Finally, let me say of course it’s no joke that Trump is attempting to illegally shutter USAID—the agency for International Development. That’s not what we’re talking about here. But it should be pointed out that the roots of USAID were started by Herbert Hoover’s massive charitable organization to prevent famine in Europe during World War I. Boy, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. Only Trump could make Herbert Hoover great again.
