Immigrant Detention at Guantanamo Bay [1]

It appears that starting about February 3rd the Trump administration began transferring migrants to Guantanamo Bay prison. I first saw this reported by the Washington State Standard, and followed up some links to find information posted by Kristi Noem on X (sorry, I hate to link to it but that is where she posts). There is also a press release by the U.S. Southern Command.

The Trump administration on Tuesday sent the first flight of detained migrants on military aircraft from the United States to the naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as President Donald Trump continues high-profile displays of his immigration crackdown.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also confirmed flights were taking place Tuesday during a segment on Fox Business. “The first flights from the United States to Guantanamo Bay with illegal migrants are underway,” she said, adding that the president is “not messing around.”
