x A federal judge has agreed to temporarily block prison officials from transferring three incarcerated transgender women to men’s facilities and terminating their access to hormone therapy under an executive order signed by Trump. — Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1.bsky.social) February 5, 2025 at 6:35 AM

Dog, these people are heartless. And horrible.
Unfortunately, the clip cuts off before Chairmain Qray-Qray Qomer pleads ignorance. Here's a transcript of his reply.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) pleaded ignorant on the topic of LGBTQ+ slurs. "I will be honest with the ranking member," he said. "I'm not up to date on my politically correct LGBTQ terminology. We'll look into that and get back with you on that. I don't know what's offensive and what's not. I don't know much about pronouns or offensive terms."
As shats. Every last one of them

x So the US is going to occupy Gaza? Where are all the MAGA people who claimed Biden was going to send our troops to fight in Ukraine because he wanted conflict? I thought this guy was all about ‘America First.’ Now we are going into Gaza??? bsky.app/profile/acyn...

x Trump really knew how to get his humiliating surrender on tariffs out of the news cycle. Just announce an invasion of the Middle East. MAGA! — Ron Filipkowski (@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social) February 4, 2025 at 5:16 PM

About that elimination of USAID. Here's a really good article from those who will be impacted. Is This the End of USAID? www.christianitytoday.com/…
✂️ The total closure of USAID would cause irreparable damage to a number of Christian mission institutions across Africa, and I’m sure across the world,” said Matthew Loftus, a missionary doctor in Kenya. “A lot of what USAID is funding is critical infrastructure that everyone relies on to keep their programs running every day, like medicines.” One example is Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS), a Christian medical organization that manages the supply chain and quality control of medications in Kenya. MEDS does its work with USAID funding. Loftus said MEDS is a “lifeline” for mission hospitals in Kenya, and it’s how his hospital gets most of its medication. “This is how the missionaries that you support do their job every day,” Loftus said.
Hey Christians for FIDJT. How are your faces today?

WOW. Thank you Mike Eckel for the history lesson. And thank you Shimon Peres for saying it, back in the day.
x Shimon Peres' prophetic insight--and recollection what he told Putin: "Why is America great? America is giving; people think it’s because they are generous. I think it’s because they are wise. If you give, you create friends. The most beneficial investment is making friends."

For those who check out the "Morning Shade" - late night/early morning conversations in the previous night's Shade, WolverineforJTatAW has been promoting the term "labitulate."
I am on a mission to bring latibulate back to the vernacular. :-) (In case anyone missed it, I repeat the link to plantkween’s definition video for “latibulate”. )
I encourage everyone to check out plantkween's definition. If you're considering latibulating into a good movie, here are some suggestions. The Best Anti-Fascist Films of All Time. www.hollywoodreporter.com/…
In light of recent events, it might be a good time to remember a very simple truth: Nazis are ALWAYS the bad guys. In the wake of Elon Musk’s Hitler-like salute at Donald Trump’s inauguration — a gesture that sparked outrage and reinvigorated the cultural conversation about fascism’s alarming reemergence — there’s no better moment to revisit cinema’s most compelling examinations of authoritarianism, resistance and the human cost of tyranny. This list brings together films from across the globe, spanning decades and genres, that remind us of the dangers of unchecked power. While masterpieces like Schindler’s List and Son of Saul profoundly address the Holocaust — history’s most horrific expression of the consequences of fascist thought — and war movies from The Dirty Dozen to Defiance vividly depict military resistance, we’ve chosen to leave them off our list to focus instead on films that explore the ideology of fascism itself: the systems, beliefs and societal impacts that enable authoritarian regimes to rise and thrive. From Chaplin’s classic satire The Great Dictator to the brutal provocations of Pasolini’s Salo, from the allegorical alien apartheid of District 9 and the mocking militarism of Starship Troopers to the absurdist comedy of Jojo Rabbit, these films are not just stories of resistance — they are bold examinations of power and its corrosive effects on society. Dive in to remember, reflect and resist.
