Update: Ezra Levin Clarifies re: Schumer Expediting Votes on Trump Nominees [1]

Ezra Levin, one of the founders of Indivisible, saw my earlier diary and sent me (on Bluesky) this clarification of what he meant about Schumer expediting trump’s nominee confirmations:
The deal was they would have had to work through the weekend to do votes nominees, so instead Schumer cut a deal Friday to allow expediting votes on Monday (today).
So basically, Schumer made it easier on all the senators (not having to work through the weekend) by making this deal.
So, while this may not make confirmations happen faster, it certainly makes it easier for the republican senators (and the Democratic senators).
Of course we don’t want him making it easier on anyone — even for Democratic senators.
We want him to make everything take as long as possible and be as painful and drawn out as possible.
No deals!! These are not normal times.
If you’re not a New Yorker, contact and arrange meetings at your senators’ district offices whether they be Democrats or republicans.
Call Schumer!
And if you’re a New Yorker, bring a group to meet at one of his headquarters. Or come to DC (we love New Yorkers, we know your bagels are better than ours) and meet with him here.
Remember — no deals!! No on all confirmations!
