Seriously, why is DOGE’s data breach of our nation’s Social Security payment systems not front-page news at DailyKos? Or anywhere? And why are Congressional Democrats doing nothing but writing “very concerned” Tweets instead of returning to Washington to defend our data? Are they competing for most concerned senator with Susan Collins? Well, I think we need to make A LOT more noise over this because I did not consent to give over my data to Musk or DOGE or his band of teenage lackeys.

I’ll be calling my Congresswoman and Senators—and well as Sen. Schumer and Speaker Jeffries---and asking that they return to Washington and start taking names. I urge you to do the same. Capitol switchboard: (202) 224-3121. Leave a comment if you get through.

For background, as reported in a New York Magazine article titled Elon Musk May Have Your Social Security Number,

The world’s richest man may now have access to the confidential personal information of every taxpayer in the United States. According to the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, Treasury secretary Scott Bessent on Friday granted Elon Musk and his minions at the faux agency DOGE full access to the Treasury’s massive federal payment system. … So now Musk and DOGE have access to and potentially power over what is basically America’s checkbook, weeks before another debt-ceiling crisis looms, at a time when Musk is vowing to somehow cut a hysterically large amount of federal spending, and during a chaotic period in which he and other officials in the Trump administration are running roughshod across the federal government like they have unchecked power.

Let our representatives know we DON’T consent to this illegal breach of our personal data. Just because we’re in the minority does not mean we have to be a feckless minority.
