So I Placed A Phone Call To My Democratic Rep And Senators McConnell and Rand Paul... [1]

I decided to call and vent to my congressman and senators about several subjects. For those who may not remember, I’m one of those federal employees who is being asked to resign and had my remote work taken away from me. I’ve also received all those partisan emails from Musk’s cronies at OPM (ending DEI and a whole bunch of other anti-woke screeds). My House Representative is Democrat Morgan McGarvey of the KY-3rd, and, tragically, my senators are Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.
I decided the better part of valor was to tailor my venting to whoever’s office I was calling.
For McGarvey, I let it all hang out.
I explained my situation at my work, and unfortunately, I have had no direction from my supervisor or have had my calls returned yet from my union, AFGE. You see I’m my 96 year old Mom’s caregiver, and remote work gives me the chance to care for Mom who has dementia while working from home. Yes, this all scares me to be honest.
And I also pitched a fit over Elon Musk’s control over OPM and now the Treasury, especially his control over the 6 trillion dollars dispersed by the federal government!
I let it be known that I DO NOT WANT MCGARVEY AND THE DEMOCRATS TO WORK WITH TRUMP! I want Democrats to push as hard as possible on the debt limit coming up to try and stop some of this shit! I said Trump has declared war on federal workers, so I see no point in working with him.
The young lady on the phone was very nice and polite, and she did say that McGarvey is working on an announcement, especially one over Elon Musk’s actions.
No, I didn’t expect much more than that, but if Democrats don’t hear from their constituents, you can expect them to do next to nothing IMHO. I’ll be watching to see what comes out of McGarvey and the other House Democrats.
I did tell the young lady that I was going to call McConnell and Paul, but I predicted that I would get nothing out of them. She beat me to the punch and said that I WILL NOT GET THROUGH TO EITHER OF THEM! I had stated at the same time that McConnell and Paul love to take the phones off the hook when bad things happen, and she confirmed that is what is going on.
Sure enough I tried to call, and guess what? I got two very broken taped messages telling me that both senator’s offices “we are experiencing extremely high call volume at this time, and no one was available to take my call.”
Bullshit!
I was able to “leave a message” with each of those assholes, but I did not tell either I was a government employee. I focused my ire on 1) Trump’s tariffs and 2) Elon Musk having control of the computers at Treasury.
I’ve been down this rabbit hole before with McConnell’s office. They will claim they never received my message. McConnell pulled the same shit when Trump tried to kill the ACA. I had to march down to McConnell’s downtown Louisville Office to tell one of his aides that I was adamantly opposed to destroying the ACA. The young man claimed they have never received my earlier phone call on that very same subject.
Yeah, right.
McConnell continues to this day to claim that his constituents do not like the ACA and want it repealed, which is a huge lie.
Anyway, as I anticipate, neither of those Republican pricks will do anything to upset Trump.
