Democratic Members of Congress SPEAK OUT in Support of USAID and Against Musk [1]

I’m sorry to put up a link with only bare-bones text, but I wanted to get a post up quickly for those who have not yet seen this.
Earlier today, Democratic members of Congress held a protest and press conference outside USAID offices to express opposition to Elon Musk’s illegal shutdown of USAID and attacks on other government agencies and systems, supposedly at Trump’s request. They expressed strong support for USAID workers and programs and decried the USAID shutdown as weakening national security to the benefit of foreign adversaries Russia and China and oligarchs such as Musk. Speakers included Don Beyer, Jr., Jamie Raskin, Ilhan Omar, Jim McGovern, Alexander Vindman, and others. They promised to continue to fight in court and elsewhere and called for members of the public to support them, particularly constituents of Republican members of Congress. They said their own phones have been ringing off the hook. Please keep flooding the phone lines. Apparently it is having an effect.
