Trump takes on ISIS in Somalia [1]

I suppose it's okay for Trump to tell us about military actions, after they've happened. At least I think he did it after the strike had happened. You can't be sure with Trump.

"This morning I ordered precision Military air strikes against the Senior ISIS Attack Planner." Would have been nice to have a name to attach to that. The only thing we know is that it was in Somalia.

"These killers, who were found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our allies." Why weren't they taken out when they were found? If they're hiding in caves, they're not much of a threat. It's when they're out of the caves that you've got a problem.

The next line is the one I've got a real problem with. "The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians." How is it possible to drop bombs on caves and know that you were only killing terrorists? That's the thing. We don't know if it was a bombing run from a fighter aircraft, or a bomber, or if it was a drone, or if it was actually armed forces. Military strikes can mean any of those things. We have to learn from main stream media that it was airstrikes from "war planes" including F/A-18s from the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea.

The strikes were more symbolic than substantive, several US military and defense officials said, meant more to burnish Mr. Trump's image as a Commander in Chief protecting the country from terrorists in his early days of the administration than to neutralize a serious threat.

That's pretty much what I figured when I first read Trump's post. That's why he didn't name who the attack planner was. He was quite specific when he took out Soleimani.

The worst part is that he finds a way to blame Joe Biden for terrorism. "Our military has targeted this ISIS Attack Planner for years, but Biden and his cronies wouldn't act quickly enough to get the job done. I did!" So, you've used the full force of the United States military to take out a cave. At least you think you got the cave. At least you think you killed terrorists instead of civilians. How could you possibly know? There could be civilians forced to dig the tunnels. There could be hostages. There could be any number of reasons for people to be in those tunnels without being ISIS. So, of course, Joe Biden is too weak, and you're strong. You're implying that Biden had the opportunity to take the same Planner out, but was too indecisive. How could you possibly know that?

"The message to ISIS and all others that would attack Americans is that, 'WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!"

Reminds me of, "IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!"

Using Truth Social is not how you tell a terrorist organization that they are a target. That's how you tell the military to go turn on water faucets for Southern California.
