I recently read an article about immersing oneself in the natural world by assuming a state of, “awe.” I’ve always gravitated toward the forrest. This is where my breath deepens and my mind quiets. With that said, here are some photos taken on the street below our property. For those who aren’t familiar with this location, this was the main route from San Jose to the coast before Hwy 17 was built. Interspersed among the younger Redwoods are trees old enough to have witnessed a slower time, when “horse power” literally meant, “horse power,” and the land was one with the Ohlone. This section is just upwards of 1800 ft above sea level.
