Follow The Yellow Brick Road! [1]

Virtually every voting American is familiar with this phrase. Dorothy and her cohorts traveled the yellow brick road to get to Oz in the hope of finding a way to return home after a tornado ravaged her community. Along the way, they came across the Cowardly Lion who desperately was searching for courage.
How art truly imitates life! Now we have the Cowardly Congress—the GOP, that is . All of its members are definitely in need of courage because they have none. They’re all kowtowing to the whims of the madman in the White House who is a wannabe dictator, and without opposition could very well become the first one in U. S. history!
The simple fact is if they all banded together and told him “NO,” there’s little, if anything, he could do about it. He couldn’t primary all of them, not even with Elmo’s hundreds of billions. Granted, there would be GOP collateral damage, but that would be the price some would have to pay to maintain a semblance of order, decency, and a democratic America with an intact Constitution.
As it turned out, the Wizard was nothing more than a bumbling character, but a master of illusions. As one writer put it:
“He was a humbug dictator who used deceit and trickery to hide his own mortal shortcomings and came to Oz originally seeking the Grimmerie, a magical spellbook, but became side-tracked when he discovered he could orchestrate a coup d'état and overthrow the Ozma Regent, thus becoming all throughout the land as His Highness, the Emperor Wizard.”
Sound familiar? We can’t let him succeed! The GOP needs to put its foot down, follow its yellow brick road, and finally dethrone the make-believe king so we can all find a way to return home to the sanctity of our democracy!
