THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP [1]

They say in the past, Presidents have given speeches and offered words of comfort to our nation after disaster has struck — we remember President Reagans words after the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster when he said, “We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and ``slipped the surly bonds of earth'' to ``touch the face of God.''

President Bill Clinton comforted the nation after the horrible bombing in Oklahoma City in 1995. ”Justice for these killers will be certain, swift, and severe...to the people of Oklahoma City — you will overcome this moment of grief of horror and we will be with you every step of the way to rebuild”

After the 9-11-2001 terror attacks, President George W Bush stood atop some rubble at Ground Zero and addressed the first responders, rescuers, and a grieving nation and shouted thru a bullhorn “I want you to know that America today is on bended knee for the lives who were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who morn. Our nation stands with the good people of NY, New Jersey, and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens…..I can hear you, the rest of the world hears you and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.”

Not long after the tragic shooting of 20 school children and 6 adults in Newtown Connecticut , President Barack Obama spoke to the citizens of Newtown on behalf of a devastated nation and said the following — “I come to offer the love and prayers of a nation. I am very mindful that mere words cannot match the depths of your sorrow, nor can they heal your wounded hearts. I can only hope it helps for you to know that you're not alone in your grief; that our world too has been torn apart; that all across this land of ours, we have wept with you, we've pulled our children tight. And you must know that whatever measure of comfort we can provide, we will provide; whatever portion of sadness that we can share with you to ease this heavy load, we will gladly bear it. Newtown — you are not alone.”

Beautiful and moving words by all 4 past Presidents spoken to a nation at a time when fellow citizens were searching for comfort and answers to unspeakable events. But nothing ever uttered by any President in the history of this great nation has been more moving, more thoughtful, more compassionate, more loving than the words spoken by President Donald J Trump after the air disaster at Reagan National that claimed the lives of 67 people. When asked if he was going to visit the crash site, president Trump said:

“I have a plan to visit not the site, because what—you tell me what's the site? The water? You want me to go swimming?”

Excuse me while I fight back the tears from that most eloquent statement. It is almost as if Jesus Christ himself uttered those words. Thank You Mr. President for providing such compassion to all of the victims and their families and for showing us your true Christian beliefs. I do not know what we did as a nation to deal with tragic loss and heartbreak before you took office sir; I cannot imagine another President saying better or more comforting words than you.
