Sleeping on the Job/Life of a Pootie [1]

My three managers have been hard at work, keeping the bed warm for me as I go out for the weekend. While I was networking with the Virginia’s List and Autism Advocacy Day, they were sleeping on the job! Might have to consider firing them.
On a serious note, I had the privilege of attending the Virginia’s List event Sunday. I met numerous women who are running or have run. It was wonderful catching up to old Emerge friends and making new connections. Listening to Abigail Spanberger motivated me to keep at it!
Monday, I attended the Autism Advocacy Day which was deeply personal for me. I am an openly autistic woman and hope to be the first elected autistic person in Virginia. It has angered me greatly to see autism used as a way to harm public health. I will never understand why someone would risk deadly diseases for debunked science all out of fear of autism. Talking to senators to get support for several bills reminds me that we are still behind both in terminology and in understanding. Hopefully, I can change that.
Today’s post is a bit shorter, but I hope it gives you another glimpse into who I am and what I hope to accomplish.
