Certain states keep their residents safer than others. In order to determine the safest states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 52 key safety indicators grouped into five different categories. Our data set ranges from assaults per capita to the total loss amount from climate disasters per capita to the unemployment rate.
Read the article for the details — but in short, red states are clumped at the bottom and blue states are listed at the top of the list.
“The safest states in America protect their residents from harm in a multitude of different ways, from keeping crime rates low and maintaining safe roadways to having strong economies and job markets that prevent people from falling into dangerous financial situations. They have high levels of occupational safety and disaster preparedness, too. Unfortunately, the idiots in the current administration are dead set on doing all the wrong things and making all of us like Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and Florida.
