A Republic if You Can Keep It (Part II)

Maintaining our Republic is the shared duty of all citizens. It requires commitment. Commitment to our Constitution. A commitment to each other. A commitment to maintaining three equal branches of government.

Curtis Yarvin does not believe in “us” or these three equal branches of government. He believes our country needs a CEO, a dictator. A dictator elected by other CEOs. A few years back Yarvin would be rated as a kook and disregarded. But CEOs like Peter Theil and Elon Musk have created influence for Yarvin’s concepts. Musk and Thiel realize neither one of them can be President. Musk because he was not born here. Theil because he is gay, and knows America is not about to elect a Gay President. These CEOs saw the opportunity to be influential by getting another CEO elected President: Donald Trump.

The internal corruption of Musk and Thiel is only exceeded by the corruption of Donald trump. Musk made much of his fortune fighting Climate Change, now watches a President call Climate Change a hoax. Thiel, who believes in equal rights for Gays, watches as a president moves to take freedoms we take for granted, away from the LGBTQ community.

Under this oligarchy we will not have three branches of government. No dictator really believes in the checks and balances our constitution practices. We will have a CEO as dictator. There will be no freedom of the press. Trump has threatened to revoke the license of CBS. He has stated MSNBC is close to death.

Musk owns Twitter. Zuckerberg, another CEO owns Meta, and he has recently cozied up to Trump paying him $25Million to settle a lawsuit. Bezos who owns the Washington Post has also gone soft on Trump. Several Washington Post employees have quit because of this. And let’s not forget CEO Rupert Murdoch who owns Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post. CEOs can shape public opinion.

At the beginning of our Revolutionary War against Great Britain, it was a minority of colonists in favor of our war for independence. John Hancock and George Washington, two of the wealthiest people in the colonies, and our earliest media mogul, Ben Franklin, who coined the phrase “Join or Die,” influenced public opinion. Franklin’s newspapers were the most successful ones in the colonies.

Our Founders created a movement against oppression. Trump, Zuckerberg, Thiel, Bezos, and Murdoch are all CEOS are trying to instill oppression.

The only people who can stop this oppression are you, and me. We do not have endure cold winters, outdoors with no food. We simply need to be vigilant, to engage in correspondence with our representatives, with each other. We must practice Democracy, engage in Freedom of the Press. No deaths required, just our commitment to each other, and to our constitution.
