Will The Senate Investigate how Cancun Teddy is responsible for the tragedy in the Potomac? [1]

That’s a wild headline, so here’s a link to a Virginian Mercury article published May 10, 2024, 4 Democratic Senators predicted something tragic would happen over the objections of Ted Cruz (the manager for the bill).
I assume Teddy Cancun knows so much about airplane safety and flight controllers due to his winter trips to avoid his Senate duties vacationing in a foreign country.

If I were a member of the Senate today, the only thing I would talk about is how Ted Cruz failed the passengers of American Airlines 5342. If I were a democratic member of the Senate, I would place a hold on every nominee and grind the wheels to a complete stop. Ted Cruz knows all about airplane safety...let him spend the week justifying his reasons for not adding safety provisions to the bill.
Democrats and those in the broadcast media should tie this directly to the confirmation of RFK, the Senate just failed in its health and safety oversight function, it failed in the river that they see out their windows in Congressional offices….it cannot fail the American people again.
Holds on nominees and confirmation hearings, not for petty political games, but because when the motto is “MOVE FAST AND BREAK THINGS”….innocent people die in PREVENTABLE accidents.
Tragedies don’t happen in a vacuum, 4 Democratic Senators had enough concern to vote against the bill...the only ones to do so...Ted Cruz said he knew better about safety and now both military and civilians are dead.
Ted Cruz should wake up to questions about this (from linked article, my emphasis in bold), and NOTHING ELSE TODAY:
Cruz is a proponent of increasing slots at DCA, particularly for a direct flight from San Antonio. Others support the increase as well: Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia had originally proposed adding 28 new slots per day. That idea was scrapped and replaced with Cruz’s amendment to allow five new daily flights in and out. On the floor Thursday evening, Cruz pushed back on the safety argument, saying that “the FAA experts have recently clarified that this near miss (on April 18) had absolutely nothing to do with traffic on the runway.” He also blamed opposition on a lobbying effort from United Airlines, which operates a massive hub at Dulles International Airport in Virginia and wants to thwart competition. Cruz said the final bill addresses safety issues by “ensuring we have sufficient air traffic controllers to monitor the traffic and protect safety.”
The opposite of “The Shock Doctrine” that Naomi Klein wrote about is accountability. Not “thoughts and prayers”….uncomfortable questions in front of cameras the day a tragedy happens. They should be asked why so many times they feel like they are at dinner next to a 4 year old…. make them explain why we don’t need a real Secretary of Health and Human Services and RFK, Jr can handle the responsibility in a crisis instead.
Millions of Americans were asked to resign, to abdicate their civil duty to their fellow American, tragedies like this happen when nothing is done. Not only did Americans not resign, but they became more motivated to do better, be better...they doubled down on their civic duty. If we don’t do something now, then when? Those responsible for the accidents should get all the airtime their narcissistic hearts desire.
Let Ted Cruz spin in the wind like a pinwheel on national airwaves day after day, he EARNED IT this time that's for sure.
