67 presumed lost in the crash of American Airlines’ American Eagle flight 5342, inbound from Wichta, Kansas, with a US Army Blackhawk helicopter on a training flight, over the Potomac River yesterday.

Among those now feared lost, Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, 1994 Pair Skating world champions.

Yes, they were Russian. They have lived in the US since the late 1990s. They were working with young skaters from the Skating Club of Boston at a national development camp, according to the AP.

Here they are in 1995. They are performing to the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria, and this fittingly commemorates them and all those lost with them.

I have placed a video of Kathryn Stott and Yo-Yo Ma performing this piece below as well as a broadcast from the Skating Club of Boston commemorating those presumed lost.

The skating club interviews are open and emotional. Please be respectful in comments. Thank you.
