Danish Bakery Sells Orange 'Moron Cakes' in Honor of Trump and His Greenland Fantasies [1]

In response to Donald Trump’s absurd and persistent demands that Denmark hand possession of Greenland over to the United States, a Danish bakery has begun selling orange “moron cakes” bearing Trump’s image, with what appears to be a creamy orange filling. The cakes are called kvaje kage in Danish, which translates most precisely to “stupid person cake.” Kvaj or kvaje also translates to “fool” or “idiot,” but “moron” is the synonym most often used by Americans in reference to Trump, so “moron cake” seems to be the best translation for us. The price for the cakes of 25 Kroner is currently the U.S. Dollar equivalent of about $3.50.
The image above of the cakes was first posted to Reddit by Danish user PrincessRad, who explained as follows:
“It's a wordplay on the Danish "Kaj kage" A cake that looks like a Green frog from a Danish Kids TV show. AND that "Kvaj" is used for someone who has done/said something really stupid. To make up for doing/saying something really stupid you give "Kvajebajer" - Aka "Moron" beers as an apology for doing/saying that stupid thing. So many layers in this comeback on Trump's stupidity on thinking he can buy Greenland.”
Posted to Reddit in the days before Trump’s inauguration, this item has only recently been noticed by some news media. Hopefully it will get more media attention, so that Trump will see it and be unhappy; and maybe bakeries in America will start selling orange Trump “moron cakes” of their own. In the meantime, while Denmark stands by its refusal to hand over possession of Greenland to Trump, I’m sure it would be happy to sell Trump a box of his “moron cakes.”
Donald Trump, and Trump Republicans, keep saying and would like us to believe that the world respects Trump more than any other recent U.S. president; and that the world respects America under Trump more than under any other recent U.S. president. The truth, sadly, is very much the opposite: Donald Trump, and America under Trump, are a global laughingstock.
