UPDATE: Federal Programs Freeze Frozen [1]

About last night’s freeze on almost all federal spending, there’s been an update:

A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked a push from President Donald Trump to pause federal funding while his administration conducts an across-the-board ideological review to uproot progressive initiatives.

U.S. District Judge Loren L. Alikhan has temporarily put a block on the illegal and unconstitutional action the thing took last night which would have threatened to cut off desperately-needed aid for Americans. For now, at least until Monday, February 3, people will continue to receive the funds they need for everything from school lunches and Section 8 housing to Medicaid.

Though I’m thankful for what Judge Alikhan has done, we need to remember that the thing’s unconstitutional action is the reason that Russell Vought of Project 2025 MUST NEVER BE CONFIRMED as director of The Office of Management and Budget. Please, PLEASE call your senators and demand that they vote a hard NO! on his nomination.
