Resistance Symbols [1]

For years MAGA has appropriated many of America’s beloved patriotic images. From the U.S. flag to the Gadsden flag to other endearing and inspiring symbols, the extreme right has twisted them into public displays of hatred.

We on the left need to find symbols we can unite under. I saw the attached image posted on Reddit and strongly identified with it. A field of black, symbolizing mourning with Lady Liberty looking to the left is an image that I think perfectly captures our predicament. But it also looks strong and dignified.

As we prepare to exercise our rights to speak and peacefully assemble, let’s adopt this or some other strong, unifying image to proudly display and stand together under.
