Jim Acosta, don't let Trump win... [1]

I was just about to rip into another Trump Truth Social post that Trump did this morning, gloating about how Jim Acosta had been moved to midnight on CNN, and then I saw that he had left the network. I watched the clip of him saying farewell to CNN and saying that his proudest moment did not have anything to do with Trump, but was when he questioned Raoul Castro in Cuba.
Trump will probably lie in the not too distant future, that he was the one who got Acosta "fired." You know he will.
CNN said they offered to move Jim to Los Angeles where he could do a show at 9 p.m., which would be midnight on the East Coast, but Acosta turned them down. He'd only been with CNN for 18 years. They could have done better. But we know why. They didn't want to suffer more attacks by Trump on their network.
I think somebody should start making t-shirts with his phrase, "It's never a good time to bow down to a tyrant."
"I have always believed it's the job of the press to hold power to account."
"I don't believe that there are two sides to a story when it's a matter of right versus wrong. It just doesn't work that way."
"I want my kids to grow up in a country where, you know, we can still shout questions at a president."
"Neutrality for the sake of neutrality really doesn't serve us in the age of Trump."
Okay now it's time to rip into Trump's missive.
Trump was having one of his schadenfreude episodes. Taking glee in that Jim Acosta had been moved to a midnight time slot.
He's a "dishonest reporter" because he fact-checked you and every other liar in your administration, during your campaign, and after CNN decided to bow down.
"...a major sleazebag..." Can we even believe we have a president that talks like that. Somebody needs to wash his mouth out with soap.
"CNN Fake News." Yes, Donald, everything about you that is negative is fake news. What we really know is that all the positive coverage about you is the real fake news.
Relegated to "Death Valley." Your memory probably isn't that good enough to remember that Ronald Reagan was the host of that TV show for 2 years, and starred in 21 episodes.
And everyone knows that doing a show at midnight is not going to give you stellar ratings. Not on a news show anyway.
"No talent!" Because he didn't kiss the ring. He didn't let you weasel out of not answering questions.
"QUIT." Well, he did, but on his own terms. He won't be off the air for long. Any real news organization will snap him up.
It looks like Jim hasn't lost his sense of humor. He trolls Trump's post and then one-ups him with Trump having "Acosta Derangement Syndrome." Priceless.
Trump ends up wishing Jim well, sarcastically.
"Good luck Jim!"
I'll second that.
