Bombard Elected Officials with Cards, Letters, Calls [1]

Our elected officials need to be hearing from us in huge numbers, and we can’t let up. I have read that phone calls and online forms can overwhelm the office of an elected official, and they can be overlooked. USPS mail may be better, but letters have to go through a process to check for hazardous materials in the envelope, so that delays them. Post cards may be the best option. You can buy pre-stamped, blank post cards from USPS. If you don’t feel safe giving your name and address, you don’t even have to do that on a post card.
Elected officials need to see that we the citizens and taxpayers, in huge numbers, oppose the efforts of Donald and Republicans to impose one-party authoritarian and so-called “Christian” nationalism on the nation. We need to demand that they answer to us about what they intend to do about the issues and urgent problems we face—rising prices, relationships with our allies, the influence of Russia on our information, infrastructure, free and fair elections, and more. When I say “elected officials”, I’m including Donald and Vance.
Jason Linkins in The New Republic calls for a bombardment of Donald in his essay, Shove the Presidency Down Trump’s Throat. This is directed at news organizations and reporters, though the rest of us could contribute. He calls for bombarding Donald tenaciously and aggressively, every day, from morning to night, with demands about the problems that are his responsibility to address. Linkins calls for demanding specifically, *you said you’d fix inflation on day one. Why is the cost of living so high?* And so on.
It looks like we’re the backstop. Our elected officials won’t represent us unless we give them a disincentive for remaining supine before Donald, and we give them an incentive to represent us instead of the billionaire crowd.
Those are my suggestions for fighting back. Be well and safe.
