Is it time for Blue America to buy some "good governance"? [1]

“There many ways to circle a square, if you want a circle that is” a saying my sons have grown weary of over the years, among many I suppose.
Been contemplating California’s (and every other blue entity’s) Trumpian dilemma this portion of the time line holds for those without red hats. And as the newly sworn in President’s character has shown throughout the lamentable coexistence with him, he is transactional, and very, very susceptible to being swooned by high praise and cash, especially cash.
So my proposal, poorly vetted as it is, would be for an economic powerhouse, such as the State of California, to play to those aspects of Trump’s character, create a “trust fund” of a billion dollars to be handed over at the end of his term if the state’s residents feel sufficiently served, and as a bonus, start by renaming John Wayne Airport something like Trump Global Triumph Airfield at Trumpifornia tomorrow.
Pay to play is the new norm for now, use it or lose it, a billion dollars to CA is nothing and a lot cheaper than the next 4 years pencil out right now.
The added bonus of red hats seeing him for who he is and losing his good grace would be delicious, he was a Dem at one time, right?
Idealism has been my personal weakness throughout life and has lead to a massive amount of teeth grinding stress, disappointment and confusion as to why others don’t share my concerns and watching things go to here, today’s reality. If I could transit to the time line where Gore’s votes were enough to seal the deal I would consider that deeply as an option, but…. something about “if ifs and buts were candy and nuts every day would be Christmas” or some such rot, I also like “don’t eschew the good for the perfect”
It might be time to buy some “good governance” if we hope to get what we need and it’s clearly for sale, with idealism taking a back seat until the appropriate time. And old rules no longer apply, that much is clear.
