Trump’s Gaza proposal rejected by allies and condemned as ethnic cleansing plan -The Guardian.
Donald Trump’s proposal that large numbers of Palestinians should leave Gaza to “just clean out” the whole strip has been rejected by US allies in the region and attacked as dangerous, illegal and unworkable by lawyers and activists. The US president said he would like hundreds of thousands of people to move to neighbouring countries, either “temporarily or could be long-term”. Destinations could include Jordan, which already hosts more than 2.7 million Palestinian refugees, and Egypt, he added. “I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations and build housing at a different location where they can maybe live in peace for a change,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One. “You’re talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing and say: ‘You know, it’s over.’”
I have been quiet only on DKos about the Israel-Palestine disaster since there was little appetite for it during the Biden Administration. Biden’s Zionism was bad enough, yet I still voted for him because Trump would be worse. At least in this, it appears that I was correct.
Some will argue that this, like Genocide, does not meet the absolute definition of Ethnic Cleansing since it leaves around 700,000 Palestinians in Gaza. Well, I would reply all development requires workers to remove the rubble, prepare the plots, and then staff the New Gaza. You cannot expect the new owners to do the gardening and street cleaning themselves. I mean, who will do the domestic cleaning? You have to plan for this!
It is becoming clearer why Trump and Netanyahu were undermining Biden’s ceasefire proposal from May 2024 and “applying” the same plan in January 2025. It really had nothing to do with the captives.
This temporary ceasefire has allowed Israel to increase their activities in Judea and Sumeria [the West Bank and East Jerusalem] in terms of oppression and land grabs. The Palestinians released can always be rearrested and held without trial. Netanyahu’s dream of from the “River to the Sea Israel shall be free” is still on the books. Hence, Ben-Givr’s and Smotrich’s continued support is a return to annihilation.
Trump’s reasoning is all too clear: what 85,000 tons of bombs and an almost equal amount of dollars did not succeed in achieving, perhaps threats and menaces can succeed [see: Columbia] . Hence, his little speed dial negotiations with Jordan and Egypt, well, he might need a retirement plot by the Med if the rest does not pan out as planned [President for life].
Trump Wants to Settle Displaced Palestinians Anywhere but Gaza. Israel's Far-right Agrees -Haaretz Editorial
This editorial points out some other extra reasoning
U.S. President Donald Trump continues to look for a place where residents of Gaza could be transferred, without any consideration for the fact that the Strip is the home and the land of approximately 2 million men, women and children. Last week, it was reported that the Trump administration is considering "relocating" to Indonesia residents of Gaza, in order to rehabilitate the Strip. Trump's geopolitical creativity knows no bounds: In order to turn the Strip into Singapore, his administration will move 2 million people to Indonesia. Now Trump is proposing that Egypt and Jordan take in more Palestinians from Gaza. In a discussion with reporters on Air Force One, the president said the Strip is "a real mess" at the moment.
The end result.
It's impossible to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with magic solutions, certainly not when they rhyme with transfer and include ethnic cleansing. It's better not to bring up ideas whose only potential is the sabotaging of Israel's peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan.
My conclusion
This indicates the death of the “two-state solution,” even if it was already in intensive care under previous administrations.

Greater Israel: an Ongoing Expansion Plan for the Middle East and North Africa -MEPEI
The recent picture of an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier with a Greater Israel badge on the uniform provoked outrage in Arab countries (Middle East Monitor, 2024). The promised land of Israel, as described in the badge photo, includes regions from the Nile to the Euphrates, from Medina to Lebanon, including territories from Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, entire Jordan, and Occupied Palestinian territories. Why it sparked outrage, however, is not clear: the map reflects Theodor Herzl’s more than a century old statement: “Discussed with Bodenheimer the demands we will make. Area: from the Brook of Egypt to the Euphrates…” (Herzl, Ed. Patai, & Transl. Zohn, 1960, p. 711), and with newer instances of this territorial expansion desiderate, expressed by Oded Yinon plan and Saul B. Cohen’s geopolitical concepts, among others, and the aggressive stance against Israel’s neighbors and regional countries. Hence, it is probably not the existence of the plan that sparked outrage, but its appearance in the broader social media space.

It conforms with Netanyahu’s New Middle East Plan.
Does it not?
Remarkable.
