There are regulatory and discourse axes for governance in the now obvious need to address the results of climate change as seen the the Southern California wildfires.

Those representing fossil fuel interests will emphasize water supply and forest floor management even when there is no floor to speak of in a desert climate. (as seen below) when the actual problem is the construction of vulnerable structures in planned zones where the concept of firefighting focuses more on single structure fires rather than entire subdivisions..

“No longer are obstructionist groups primarily attacking the reality of climate change; in fact, [they often] claim that they recognize the need to address climate change. “Solutions denial” or “solutions skepticism” may be a better phrase for what was observed.” A new article brings us to how resistance comes using a range of aesthetic and quasi-scientific objections rationalizing interest group ideologies.

Disinformation in the form of interest group propagandists like Tucker Carlson makes the framing of arguments for remediation and land-use planning more difficult in the western US no different than eastern US resistance to renewable energy efforts using offshore wind and solar subsidies.

The current POTUS is nothing if but a malignant misinformation machine where he attempts to use disinformation such as whale injuries from wind turbine noise to enlist ecological activist support.

Wind: A Map of the Anti-Offshore Wind Network in the Eastern United States.” The Climate and Development Lab, December, 2023

Donald Trump becomes the exemplar of Potemkin Public Policy, demonstrating horticultural expertise and his understanding of desert landscapes. His sense of recovery looks like “Let’s give people a bonus for building bigger houses!”

It still isn’t about water supply. It’s more about construction regulation and regional planning.

x Trump: "I'm signing an executive order to open up the pumps and valves in the north. We want to get that water pouring down here as quickly as possible ... you're talking about unlimited water coming up from the Pacific Northwest, even coming from parts of Canada."
